Full Day Fishing from Padstow

Our 8-hour full day fishing trip gives us something the shorter trips can’t: time. More time allows the skipper to work with the tides, explore different fishing grounds and change the plan as conditions develop throughout the day.

From Padstow, we can fish a wide stretch of the North Cornwall coast, including grounds around Trevose Head and towards Tintagel. Depending on the weather, tide, sea conditions and time of year, the day might involve wrecks, reefs, rough ground or deeper marks.

There is no fixed plan for every full day. Lee and Gav use their knowledge of these waters to decide where to concentrate our time, which techniques to use and when it’s worth moving to another mark. That flexibility is one of the main advantages of spending eight hours at sea.

The species we target will vary with the season and conditions, and may include pollack, ling, cod, rays, gurnard and other species found around the Cornish coast.

Tope Shark Fishing Cornwall

Tope shark fishing off North Cornwall can be one of the highlights of the summer fishing season. These powerful sharks are highly regarded as a sport fish and are known for strong, sustained runs once hooked.

When conditions and the season are suitable, a full day gives us the time needed to target tope on the appropriate grounds and work through different stages of the tide. As with all sea fishing, their presence and catches can never be guaranteed, and the skipper will decide whether targeting tope is appropriate based on the conditions and fishing at the time.

If tope are your main reason for booking, please contact us before choosing a date so we can advise on the most suitable time of year and trip.

Deep-Water Wreck Fishing Cornwall – Pollack, Ling and Cod

The waters off the North Cornwall coast contain numerous wrecks, providing structure and habitat for marine life and creating some interesting fishing opportunities.

A full day gives us more scope to reach and work deeper wrecks when conditions allow. Fishing these marks effectively involves much more than simply positioning the boat over a wreck — tide, depth, drift and sea conditions all influence how the skipper approaches each mark.

Depending on the wreck, season and conditions, we may use different techniques to target species such as pollack, ling and cod. Lee and Gav use their knowledge of the wrecks and local fishing grounds to plan the drifts, adapt the setup and decide when to stay on a mark or move elsewhere.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON BOARD

A full day of proper sea fishing

Our 8-hour Full Day trip gives us the time to explore more of the fishing grounds around the Cornish coast and spend a full day focused on the fishing. With a maximum of eight anglers, there’s plenty of room to fish while the skipper can make the most of the conditions, tides and grounds throughout the day.

You’ll be fishing from the open deck of a purpose-built fishing boat, with the skipper deciding where and how we fish according to the tide, weather, sea conditions and their knowledge of the fishing grounds. Conditions can change during a full day at sea, and the boat will naturally move with the swell, so this trip is best suited to those comfortable with spending a longer day aboard.

Come prepared for a full day at sea

Bring warm layers, waterproofs and sensible footwear, along with enough food and drink for the day. If you’re new to sea fishing or unsure how you’ll find a longer trip at sea, our 2-hour or 4-hour trips are a good place to start.
